Maximize your storage space and keep your items safe with these helpful tips:

Maximize Your Space:

• Uniform-Sized Boxes: Pack your items in uniform-sized boxes to make stacking easier and more stable. Label each box with its contents for easy identification.
• Disassemble Furniture: Take apart large furniture items to save space. Keep screws and small parts in labeled bags taped to the furniture.

Protect Your Belongings:

• Plastic Sheeting: Concrete floors can emit moisture throughout their lifespan. To prevent cardboard boxes from sticking to the floor we recommend placing a protective layer of plastic sheeting on top of the concrete under any cardboard boxes.
• Insurance: Pak Rat Self Storage makes every effort to provide clean, dry, and secure storage. However, it is to your advantage to purchase insurance for your stored items. Please ask the on-site manager for insurance information to ensure your contents are protected.

Organize Your Unit:

• Create Aisles: Leave space between boxes and items to create aisles. This allows you to access items at the back without having to move everything.
• Keep Frequently Used Items at the Front: Place items you need to access frequently near the front of the unit for easy retrieval.

Security Measures:

• Lock Up: Always use a high-quality lock for your unit. Disc locks are recommended as they are more secure.
• Avoid Storing Valuables: While our facility is secure, it’s best to avoid storing irreplaceable valuables such as jewelry or important documents.

Safety Tips:

• Avoid Stacking Too High: Don’t stack boxes or items too high as they could fall and cause injury or damage.
• Keep Pathways Clear: Ensure pathways within your unit are clear to prevent tripping hazards and make accessing items easier.
